Venice was like a dream. I felt like I had transported back in time to a different era. The old buildings gave the place so much character. The peeling paint of the buildings made it look so classy while simultaneously portraying the history that Venice exudes. This city is filled with such friendly people, the food was absolutely delicious and couples on every corner soaking up the romance in the air. It was the perfect way for Tom and I to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Yay! It was difficult to walk around every corner without taking a photograph. Being the photography nut I am, I took pictures every 5 seconds! I would definitely recommend couples coming here as long as you are prepared to walk for long periods of time. Believe it or not but there are no roads in Venice! On top of being a sinking city built on water, the only land transport available around the city is by foot. Not even bicycles are able to move around easily because of the bridges on every corner. The only form of transport are by water : water taxis, water buses and of course the Gondola. Since I took hundreds of pictures I couldn’t fit everything into 1 blog post. Therefore I will be writing a part 2 to my Venice trip which includes the restaurants I visited and Saint Marco. Until next time!
