Located on the 23rd floor of the famous Troika building sits the french restaurant Cantaloupe that sports the most breathtaking view of the Kuala Lumpur skyline. The man that was once responsible for Frangipani, Chris Bauer serves as the master mind behind the brilliant 8 course meal prepared to perfection boasting it’s flavours and aesthetics.
Be prepared for an extraordinary lineup of culinary perfection.
This was the highlight of my entire course because I
like LOVE truffle oil. The combination of textures explodes in your mouth.
Mint sorbet with vanilla meringue
Pan seared smoked quail
Braised rib eye beef, root vegetable & herb speltzer
Probably one of the softest meats I’ve ever tried.
Raspberry & Chiboust Sable Breton
Coconut pain perdu, Gula Melaka ice cream topped with a Hazelnut crumble.
I loved every single dish that was served. Everything tasted perfect and looked so pretty that I didn’t want to eat my food. I just wanted to take pictures(if you’re a photography nut like me you’ll know what I’m talking about). The price of the food was extremely reasonable – RM120++ for an 8 course meal at Troika? Not too shabby. If I had to give one critique I would say that alcohol is a bit too expensive but then again you’re at the Troika. No such thing as cheap.
So if you’re into fine dining with a kick ass view of Kuala Lumpur I say go for it. It’s more than just good food. It’s an experience.
This GIF shows how much I enjoyed it. I left the place prancing around like a crazy peson haha.
